My first HF rig was the Yaseu FT-817. I purchased mine soon after it came out.

The FT-817 is a great radio, but times change, and it no longer exactly matched what I wanted to do. So in 2016 I sold it rather than have it sit unused. I’m very happy that it went to a new ham who had just passed their test.
